A drill, not a lecture

Airline pilots train in simulators so mistakes cost nothing.

You’re about to back up a practice wallet with fake coins. If you botch it, you’ll see exactly what botching it means — and it will cost you nothing.

The rules you’re about to live:

  • Write the words down in order
  • Paper beats screenshots (hackers can’t photograph your drawer)
  • Whoever has the words has the money

Try it: Backup Drill

Your practice wallet holds 1,000,000 sats. Back it up, survive a "lost phone," and restore it.

A zero-risk fire drill for self-custody. Your practice wallet holds 1,000,000 fake sats: back it up, survive a "lost phone," and restore it from your 12 words. Skip the backup and see exactly what happens — without losing a single real sat. Open the The Seed Phrase Game tool →

Quick check: Where should a real seed phrase live?

  1. A screenshot in your camera roll
  2. A note in your email drafts
  3. Written on paper (or steel), stored somewhere private and safe ✓

Anything on an internet-connected device can be stolen remotely. Paper in a safe place can’t be hacked — only physically found. (Metal backup plates survive fire and flood, too.)

Quick check: A "support agent" messages you: "We detected an issue — verify your 12 words to protect your funds." You should…

  1. Give them the words — they sound official
  2. Refuse. No legitimate person or company will EVER ask for your seed phrase ✓
  3. Give them just the first 6 words to be safe

This is the #1 scam in Bitcoin, verbatim. Real support never needs your words — not to "verify," not to "protect," not ever. Anyone asking is stealing. You just passed the test that saves fortunes.
